    Description:
Fishing San Luis Pass in the kayak, not having any luck on trout. Had a few finger mullet and saw a big blowup on mullet about 200 yards away. Get there and throw a mullet out and hook a 3' Bonnet Head Shark. Re tie my hook and see something shinning up ahead. I knew it to be a tripletail from all those fishing shows I've seen! I cast and pull the mullet in front of him and see him turn, & BAM!!

  • Red (redfish) Drum
    Description:
Bait shops were out of most live bait so we got dead shrimp. Used plastics and finger mullet but neither got a bite. This 26" red was my first hit and catch of the day starting it out right. Surprised because it hit half a dead shrimp. Bait was sitting in 4 FOW. Morning was cloudy with light outgoing tide, no wind. Reds busting bait near the bank. Bite was really slow today but the water was nice
    Bait:
    Dead shrimp.
