    24 inches 5 pounds
    Bait:
    Live shrimp
  • Gafftopsail Catfish
    Description:
Needed a few fish to have enough for dinner the first night, so we picked up a few gaftop on the ICW on shrimp and cut bait. They're fun fighters, and actually quite tasty contrary to their trash fish reputation
    Bait:
    Live shrimp and cut croaker
  • Gafftopsail Catfish
    Description:
Needed a few eaters to add to some other fish to make enough for dinner, so we stopped at a spot on the ICW to find some gafftop, and it produced! These are actually very good fish to eat, contrary to their trash fish reputation
    Bait:
    Live shrimp and cut croaker
  • Whiting
    Description:
Some more of the fish we caught on our POC trip; mangroves and drum came off the jetty's, all the whiting came off of the back lakes.
    Bait:
    live sheimp
  • Inshore Slam (trout/flounder/redfish)
    Description:
Some of the keeper fish we caught down in port o connor earlier this week. Mixed bag of sand trout, whiting, flounder, a redfish and 3 mangrove snapper. The flounder and mangroves were caught in a cut right at the beginning of the jetty's, and the rest of the fish were caught in the back lakes; the red was the only keeper in a school of tailers in a foot of water.
    Bait:
    Live shrimp and cut ladyfish
  • Greater Amberjack
    Description:
My boyfriend is a deckhand for Texas Fins and Feathers out of Port O'Connor and I got to go along with them for an offshore trip yesterday. We ended up about 50 miles out and caught 5 limits of snapper, plus I got to fight this AJ on the lightest rod we had on the boat! I had an awesome time. Highly recommend them for some badass offshore fishing!
    Bait:
    Piggy Perch
  • Red (redfish) Drum
    Description:
Found a few schools of reds pushed up in a lake and smoked em had a 6 man limit by 9:15
    Bait:
    Plastics
  • Red (redfish) Drum
    Bait:
    Cut bait
  • Red (redfish) Drum
    Description:
While chasing after the jacks under the birds, my dad hooked into this MASSIVE bull red. After about a 20 minute fight we were finally able to get it up in the boat. 36 lbs (couldn't get a length on it due to lack of anything long enough to measure it) and one heck of a fighter! We released it and it swam off good in the end.
    Bait:
    Live shrimp
  • Jack Crevalle
    Description:
Got into some schooling jacks today off a barrier island. Found a TON of birds diving after baitfish, and when we got there there were literally jacks flying out of the water chasing the bait. Overall my dad my brother and I caught a couple between us, and my brother pulled the gaftop and my dad got the bill red under the birds too (see other pics)
    Bait:
    Live shrimp
  • Inshore Slam (trout/flounder/redfish)
    Description:
Talk about a mixed bag! Got the slam today with the addition of a sheepshead, a whiting, and a giant gaftop. Had a species filled day with the addition of a bullred and a jack crevalle in the morning. Good times in POC!
    Bait:
    live shrimp
  • Red (redfish) Drum
    Description:
Got into som entice reds this morning! My brother landed two keepers, and I managed one. My dad and I both lost a mid slot red which would've given us 5 total, but these three will do for now! Wading the beach and finding patchy oyster beds was producing these fish; we'd cast into about a foot of water and just wait for the reds to find the shrimp!
    Bait:
    Live shrimp
