  • Common Carp
    Description:
Got this awesome action shot of quite a tank trying to propel itself over a small outlet wall! Heavy rain from the last couple nights had pushed several carp and gar below the wall into a small pool and the carp were relentless in trying to get back into the main water body. I sat beside the wall for several minutes waiting to get shots of the jumps.
    Bait:
Heavy rain from the nights before and patience with the camera!
  • Common Carp
    Description:
Doubled up on these two carp, making my last session of winter break quite a nice farewell. Waiting for one more fish before going home and ended up with these guys both coming from 4fow. The darker one is 10-12lbs. Funny how fish health can vary so much in a relatively small body of water. Thank you all for the thumps up and support, my blerts will slow down a bit but I'll do my best to be active
    Bait:
Sweet corn and pineapple on a 2/0 VMC Circle Hook (the pineapple was surprisingly unsuccessful)
  • Common Carp
    Description:
Great catch from yesterday morning. Casting right outside the spillway current, left the bait on the bottom, and tightened the line. This common took the bait in 4fow and shot off. The fish fought so hard I thought for sure it was pushing around 20lbs, wouldn't come off the bottom and took me 20 yards back and forth down the bank! Ended up with this great looking 10-12lber.
    Bait:
Mexicorn and pineapple on a VMC Circle Hook
  • Common Carp
    Description:
A stunning 12-13lb Common Carp caught today! I wasn't sure how the water temp would effect the fishing but the 60 degree weather brought the fish out. I casted just outside the spillway current to a calm pocket and landed this fish along with nine others. The fish are putting up great fights so I can't wait to see what bites tomorrow!
    Bait:
VMC Circle Hook with five kernels of sweet corn below three 1/4oz split shots
  • Longnose Gar
    Description:
Throwback from the last week of August. Took my good friend fishing and hooked him up on this beautiful 44in Longnose after several missed fish and lost lures. While he fished for carp and cats with corn I ran the traps parallel and vertically along and across the banks. Incredible fun landing these fish well worth a few hours of casting and snags! CPR.
    Bait:
    Cotton Cordell Rattletrap (Parrot pattern)
  • Largemouth Bass
    Description:
Not a very good picture but fished lake Aquila today and it took a while but found a couple bass. This one was about 2 1/2lb.
    Bait:
    Z-man minnow drop shot rig
